I’m hear to tell you that this is me. I have always had faith, always had a relationship with God. But as we grow older and become parents and have to deal with the world around us, we need a strong foundation. That foundation is God in our lives and our hearts.
So, how do you get closer to God? Well, my little community for about 600 has started an awakening. There has been an outpouring to learn to pray better and get closer to God. In fact a book just kept popping up to some women in my church, as maybe the next step. And, I’m here to tell you it is working.

Awaken
Awaken is a book by Priscilla Shirer of Going Beyond Ministries. It is a 90 day devotional designed to help you get more intimate and closer to our lord and savior. And I believe I have been called to get the message out too. As I am writing this post, I am in the middle of this devotional book. So far it has given me peace and joy and helped me pray. It has brought my thoughts and actions closer to the lord.
In any event, I highly recommend hoping online and ordering this book to start your own journey for a closer relationship with God.
Get Closer To God
Want to take it one step further? This is a personal devotional, where you can read and reflect and even take notes. It is to be done singularly. However, wouldn’t it be great to have a meet up once a week to reflect on how this book has changed your thoughts and your week…with a small group of friends/fellow believers.
Just an idea to think on. Maybe you are called on to connect some people and/or connect some people to God. Spread the word ya’ll. And don’t forget to get the book.
